‘A Bigger Splash’ — the Spa area created by Olga Malyeva for AXOR as part of the Mosbuild Bathroom Biennale exhibition, was greatly influenced by David Hockney and his celebrated swimming pool series. The artist’s most iconic pattern is recreated on the floor, calling forth an image of sparkling sunshine in the cool water of the open-air pool. Bright accents of the sculptural furniture and wall relief complete the color saturation which is characteristic of David Hockney’s paintings. Blue orbs scattered across the room represent splashes of water, while a soft cloud of crafted paper covers us gently from the ceiling, completing the scene.
